SAXOPHONE

Teaching using a French school method of saxophone I specializing in classical and contemporary music literature.
I incorporate some music theory, specialize in building the correct saxophone embouchure (or the correct lipping), overtone technique for advanced students , airstream production and correct breathing technique.

Specific saxophone-technique methods are adapted to each student’s needs and progress.

Finding lessons fun is important for the success of learning an instrument so I always do my best to keep our lessons relaxed and engaging.

With me you can learn how to play soprano, alto, tenor or baritone saxophone. For complete beginners I suggest to start learning with alto and we can switch later if that’s something you would like.

Levels: Beginners to Advanced

Beginner age: 9+ years

RECORDER

Excellent choice for our younger beginners who can later transition to playing a different wind instrument.

But also a serious instrument that opens the door to the beautiful Early Classical Music. It’s a very underrated instrument that can be taken seriously.

Recorder lessons for renaissance and baroque music, teaching history of music ornamentation, technique behind it, use of it and basics of improvisation.

With me you can study Soprano (Descant) recorder or Alto (Treble) recorder for adult or advanced students.

Level: beginner to advanced

Beginner age: 6+

PIANO

I offer piano lessons for children, beginners of any age and hobby level players.

Piano is a great instrument to begin your musical journey or pick up where you left it years ago.

With me you will improve your technique, learn or refresh music reading, work on material recommended by me, and we’ll make sure to include songs you would like to learn.

Level: Beginner to intermediate

Beginner Age: 6+

GROUP LESSONS

How does it work?

Group lessons consist of 2 – 6 students with a similar knowledge level, so they will either all be beginners or advanced groups. The same type of an instrument would be paired together. So there would be a recorder group, saxophone group or a piano group.

Time duration: lessons are 50min long

Why group lessons?

∙ you or your child can now take music lessons with friends and split the cost

• opportunity to learn as an individual but also have the opportunity to play in an ensemble

• often group lessons improve motivation to practice (due to healthy peer encouragement)

• promoting team building and cooperation

• building confidence and reducing the risk of stage fright because playing in front of people becomes a part of a routine

What will you need?

• if you want to learn saxophone or recorder you will need to bring your own instrument (I can help with that, saxophones can be rented)

• music book(s) that will be chosen based on an instrument a knowledge level
